Art and inspiration should complement science, not replace or contradict it. Scientific knowledge on how our brains works has developed at incredibly high rates over the last 10 years. Neuromarketing – and Consumer Neuroscience, its academic version – has replaced myths, personal beliefs and words of wisdom for scientific evidence on how we develop attention, brand preference, emotional bonds. And much more. But not yet everywhere and not yet in Romania.
Only a couple of years ago, I coordinated a project in which about three hundred people declared, inter alia, that package of a specific product was the 18th out of 20 buying criteria. And I am sure they meant it. The fact is, nevertheless, that most of the buying is prompted by the package ability to pop up from the shelf landscape and attract attention for a few seconds.

As organizations grow or squeeze or simply when they want to become more performant, new needs are identified, new information and decision-making processes have to be designed, ideally with no negative impact on employees’ morale. An experienced outside consultant, known to stay with the organization a limited amount of time is a good choice in such an instance.

We all know this brilliant picture. But we still adopt new ideas incredibly slowly. It is true that many "waws" turn into disappointments, and most of them, Neuromarketing included, have been associated with individuals at least overpromising. But do you afford to use spears against machine guns? For how long? When cavalry did fight against tanks, part of a great nation's elite vanished.
Project Financing

Obviously, financing a major project is different from financing normal, routine activity. This is typically an area that blocks projects altogether or may lead to serious distress for the entire organization. Even when the project is pursued and is successful, financing was probably sub-optimized exactly because it is not the organization’s typical business. Beyond financing costs, the level and types of collaterals, payment schedule and other terms would benefit from being revised by an experienced individual on the company’s side. We improved financing terms for tens of projects implemented by our clients and fueled hundreds of others on behalf of investors and lenders.
